Who God Says I Am – By Denise Kennedy
Ephesians 2:10 reads “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
It is important to understand who we are according to Christ. Despite our mistakes and shortfalls, God doesn’t see us as any less than who He says we are. The Merriam Webster defines masterpiece as “a work done with extraordinary skill.” How awesome it is to serve a God who sees me as a masterpiece!?
The social pressures of this world and systems designed to tear you down, will constantly remind you of your past. I have great news! Your mistakes do not define you. Our Father sees the best in us. In fact, Songs of Solomon 4:7 says “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” So, even when I make mistakes and fall short, God doesn’t hold those things against me and still sees me as beautiful; a masterpiece.
My prayer is that we will begin to see ourselves the way that God sees us, because what God says about you is what matters.
